Timbs & Sticks

Interview with Leif for Kim&Cookie:

K&C
: Are you touring now/ soon/ or until further myspace notice?
L: It's a secret until things are confirmed. Nothing soon though, I'm still working on new tracks.

K&C: Complete the statement "______ I Do What I Want"
L: whatever

K&C: Is 'Timbs' just about shoes?
L: no. it's also about trannies and weed

K&C: Do you see parallels between you and Grace Jones, if so how?
L: I see more than parallels. I see transversals, intersections, non-collinears... mad geometrix.

Get 'Timbs' - now you know what this good shit is about ^

OMG YALL, I'm famous!

Just in case y'all don't read both me and Ian's blogs, I'm gonna re-post some of my last week's news. Remember that time I went to Highline to see Wale and said that I was gonna be on some video footage somewhere? And then on one of the blogs I posted a Wale interview video and I was the black shadow on the side?! I now I have proof that I was there!

Thanks you twitter! You make all of my dreams come true!

On another note, I just found out the WALE & LADY GAGA will be recording a song together...?!?!? This is DEFINITELY going to be a Kim & Cookie certified track, I can just tell you now! The Wale I be bendin' ova backwards for Wale, and the way Ian be gettin' weak in the knees for Lady Gaga, we both be trippin' by the time this is released!

Hope y'all had Merry XMases, Hanukkahs and hope all y'all second days of Kwanzaa's are STRAIGHT TRIPPINNN'. Oh and if you're Muslim, I hope your Thursday off from work was magical!

During our at home Christmas festivities with friends (basically the family), we got our Kim & Cookie promo shots taken by the girl who's responsible for www.bettymhaggerty.com. If you haven't checked her out from the link on the left of the site, check her out now. She is GREAT. Thanks to her, the Myspace should be up before New Years (hah)!!

New Wale... Can you find it?

If any of you don't know me personally, then you wouldn't know that recently I have become mildly addicted to Twitter. I love it. I'm already spending my long boring nights in Massachusetts refreshing my twidget like it's my job. While I was doing this last night I got wind from Wale (I like how I phrase that so it sounds like we're almost friends) that some of his music leaked... HALLELUJAH, kinda. I always want more Wale, but I don't want his stuff to leak because he is one of the few artists that I totally and wholly support, admire, and really want to succeed. Which is why this post will be only be kinda informative.

I new Wale track leaked and it's called "Chillin'". IT IS GOOD. elitaste asked eskay to take it down on Twitter, so you won't be able to find a working link for it on nahright.com, and every blog/website that uses the nahright.com sharebee link to spread music, also won't have a working leak. I do know of a website that has it hosted (seriously one of my favorite blogs), and that's probably because the site isn't based out of the US.

But this is all I will tell you. It's like Where's Waldo?, only Where's Wale?

I wish I had the heart to tell you exactly where to find it, but I just can't :(
I would feel bad :(
So I'll just sit here listening to it.

So the final Kim & Cookie Show of the year was Friday, and I unfortunately had to miss it. Everything else in my life caught up with me right before I had to leave, you know how that goes... I hear Ian held that shit down, though. I'm about to listen to it right after I make some late lunch.

While the official Pratt Radio show is no longer in session, never fear! We're still gonna be holdin' shit down until the next semester starts. Between now and the end of January, the Myspace page will be up and ready to go! I swear to it this time! We just need to get our photos done (which only wasn't getting done before due to this stupid little display of final work called survey). I know I'll be posting summa dem mini shows cuz i BORED OUTTA MY MIND at home!! Ahh, well, the holidays are nice.

EDIT: I LOVE THAT I WAS JUST WRITING UP ALL THIS WALE TALK AND THEN "NIKE BOOTS" COMES ON MTV JAMS???? THEY JUST PLAYED FOUR WHACK TRACKS IN A ROW, WHEN DID THEY DECIDE TO GET SOME TASTE???? I guess that's what he means when he says there ain't no respectable rappers... Wale, changing life, CHANGING TV. I am so hype right now, I do what I want!!!

Usher "Trading Places"

Okay, okay, I know. We said we'd only sell-out that one time we played T.I. and RiRi on air, but I'm sorry I have a guilty pleasure with this song right here. Ever since Wale twatted (we've decided to come up with dank verbs for Twitter updates) about being the only one who thinks this song is kind of gay, I've been listening to it almost on repeat trying to find the gay in it. Maybe I should have just replied to that tweet asking for clarification...

Anyway. You've probably seen this video before (because it's old news), but in case you haven't, you're missing out (part with the girl in the human fish tank thing.. that's fire. if i could get one of those in my crib you best believe it would be the focal point). A lot of people know that Usher's wife, Tameka, is a total "don't you be lookin' at my man" kinda woman. Which, in a way, is really nice. She's letting us all know how much she cares. But this video... I wonder if she can watch it? I mean, she did make Keri Hilson change wardrobe at the "Love In This Club" video shoot because she thought what girlie was wearing was "too revealing". Did she pick out this girl's wardrobe too? I bet not! See for yourself.

Best line: I'll be waking you up to a cup of Folgers. Pancakes and eggs, I owe you breakfast in bed, baby. And your orange juice sitting on the coaster, toast on the side with strawberry or grape jellay

Do you think this video is gay? Are you on Team Wale with this one?

Jesse Boykins 106 & Park

Jesse performing Itis last week on 106 & Park. It's along the lines of songs like Tabloids in its slow and steady soulfulness. Hope nobody catchin that itis out there cuz its DAMN COLD AND SNOWING RIGHT NOW.

Catch Jesse and Theophilus London sharing the stage at the annex tomorrow night. On a related note, Theophilus' loft party with Ninjasonik was broken up early so we never got to check it out - BOGUS.

Jim Jones 'Pop Champagne' & WALE!!!

Holy moley! Things have been crazy with finals coming up and all. I've been running around trying to get everything printed and in order, and I'm starting to think I'm just about done, which is nice. But enough about me, let's talk about Wale!

I hit up Highline Ballroom on Tuesday to check out Wale and let me tell you, it was fantastic (by the way photo shout outs go to phil chang). I got to the show pretty late, but I somehow managed (through many strokes of pure luck) to get into the backstage/upstairs area and had the chance to say "whatup" to Wale. So. My night was made. Ahh.

There were mad guests there which was absolutely nuts. Jay-Z and Leonardo DiCaprio (yeah, they showed up together i don't even know they do what they want!), Freeway, Young Chris, Skyzoo, Chrisette Michelle, Ryan Leslie and probably more that I'm just totally forgetting. OH! And Jim Jones was there too and one of the DJs played this shit and I thought it was hilarious.

how awkwardly gay and homoerotic is this really??

REMEMBER TO TUNE IN TOMORROW FROM 7-8 ON PRATTRADIO.COM FOR THE KIM & COOKIE RADIO SHOW. IT VERY WELL MAY BE THE LAST OFFICIAL SHOW OF THE YEAR BEFORE WE HEAD OFF TO GOOD OL' MASSACHUSETTS. :[

Bringing it back a couple years? Do we even want to admit that?

I pretty much just had a shit show of a night. Wow. So I'm just catching up on some blogging real quick before I hit the sack and wake up much earlier than I want to in the morning to hit up SoHo.

I was just reading the last post and was totally caught off guard by the use of the phrase "a vengeance". I was just watching a pre-air episode of Californication (so good) around this time yesterday and was totally caught off guard by seeing the word "sevenfold" on one of the walls. This all leads me to one thing: a little (or maybe big, now) band that goes by the name of Avenged Sevenfold.

I remember years ago when I was all up in the shit of hardcore/death metal, A7x totally used to be my guilty pleasure (which I think I decided the other day has now changed to T-Pain....?). They might have been my current Wale, only I stuck with them longer than I stuck with most things at the time. I was really into them during the 2003 'Waking the Fallen' era. Then something happened to Matt Sanders' (or as the stage name goes.. M. Shadows ooooooh) throat and he had to have surgery or something which seriously affected the way he was able to kind of pig squeal (just wanna let y'all know I just called it a goat growl) and yell at us all, so their next album 'City of Evil' was a lot different than anything the fans expected to hear. I for one, was not happy. And to this day, I am not happy. I'm sure they would have become sell-outs at some point, but I just think it happened too soon.

Anyway. I feel like A7x have been haunting me. So, now, a really old throwback. Enjoy (or just ignore and pretend you didn't)!

Maybe one of these days I'll have an even older throwback and toss some James Ingram at y'all (does he even have music videos???).

EDIT: hokay i didn't watch this video or anything before i posted it, i just remembered it and how much i liked it. i just watched the first 30 seconds of it and can we plz just talk about how foxy matt sanders/m. shadows/singer/howler is?????? i srsly don't have a type in guys in this just further proves it. he is so fine. daym.

Pashly

Pashly is ALL UP IN EUROPE starting in London on Dec 13th and ending in Parma on Jan 9th. She's got some dope dance tracks up her Myspace.

She played Europa last month and her song Morning Sun got me dancing like a fool. Definitely a great performer and someone I'll be following more. Look back for a post with pics from the tour?

And sorry about the lack of show tonight and no advance warning. Due to unforeseen circumstances down at the radio station we just couldn't get our show tonight like we wanted. Next Friday? Back with a vengeance? Want to make it a date? Too formal? Ok, we'll just call it Kim&Cookie time ?

WALE - 'NIKE BOOTS VIDEO'

What better way to start off K&C's 3rd official month in action, and the first day of December, with a new video from WALE. You can imagine how I feel right now, I'm sure. I don't even know what to say. I'm in musical and visual bliss.

Find more videos like this on walemusic.com

WALE will be performing at HIGHLINE BALLROOM in NY next Wednesday, the 8th, with Mark Ronson, DJ Nick Catchdubs, Kud Cudi, Che Grand, Colin Munroe, and possibly someone else (sorry I am too lazy to unpack my ticket from one of my suitcases!). IT'S GOING TO BE GOOD. However, if you know what's good for you you won't show up so it can just be me and the stage........ :)
Nah, just playin'. Everybody's gonna be there. Tickets are $15, which is a steal for this size show and the event is all ages, so all the 20 year olds in the world can still hit it up.
